But this is not the nothing of negation. For </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">not</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> means </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">other than</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">, and </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">other</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> is merely a synonym of the ordinal numeral </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">second</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">. As such it implies a first; while the present pure zero is prior to every first. The nothing of negation is the nothing of death, which comes </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">second</span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"> to, or after, everything. But this pure zero is the nothing of not having been born. There is no individual thing, no compulsion, outward nor inward, no law. Here are my excuses - working hard at uni, working hard at work, and moving into a new home with my lovely. Excuses are always boring - sorry about that. Anyway I am here again and hoping that I'll be able to really get into craft stuff again in a big way soon. I've decided just to do one paper at uni next semester, work 3 days a week and have a little bit more ME time. Which, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">incidentally</span> includes more crafty time (<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Woot</span>!).<div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 348px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpvUwg1HY1Bu34yXwUv1tJoGH83V_7ntz147i-nXuGwpJYchYtYlJA08XewOdwlWad-he6kObUMcNtaT8R1FNPfEF3YatZsBE7A6BX110-Aqfzs2vsfbjlTG1VHxtyGch7q4YcqZTU_hE/s400/ostrich.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346759106462159778" /></div><div>All this will happen after exams are over, and after my quick trip to Europe in July! <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Yussss</span>! I'm very excited about that. In the short space of 2 weeks I will be holidaying in Croatia, Rome, London, and Barcelona. In Croatia I will be visiting Split and also hanging out off the Dalmatian coast on the island of <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Hvar</span> where my great grandfather came from (and ran away from). <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Soooo</span> exciting. Our trip to Melbourne was super fun and Charlie and I had a bit of a downer on coming home to boring old normal life and Auckland. Oh well... I have Europe in July to look forward to - 3 weeks spent in Croatia, Rome, Barcelona and maybe a couple of days in London. Yay!</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm in the thick of summer school now and I'm not enjoying it like I did last year, thanks to no longer living in a holiday destination (Waiheke) and a horrible chest infection that has still left me exhausted a week and a half after getting it. I am, of course still getting awesome marks.</div><div><br /></div><div>You know what's getting me down today though? Chains. Yes, chains. Necklace chains. It's so hard to find a good necklace chain for my jewellery. I was excited before Christmas because I thought I'd found an awesome gold plated chain that was exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately I've now found that said gold plated chains quickly lose their gold plate and end up steel coloured. It's a silly thing to get down about but I am so sick of doing chain research instead of thinking about fun new ideas. Blah.... more internet trawling to do.</div><div><br /></div><div>I need to seriously start making stuff for the <a href="http://www.crossstreetcarnival.com/">Cross St Carnival</a> now which is looking to be an awesome day!</div>Alidahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16607764228128441016noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4478041853173940051.post-89198614466856032112008-12-18T19:58:00.002+13:002008-12-18T20:05:48.178+13:00Over the rainbow.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjcOk4rDQ0coMeOkQlW7TRq33NYqpR5Iwc07btCoAG04AVj6QjsFk13UX3sstasChDhBET_wcCJj_r_xZOtztKRy4PlxiNbLBg_J5qrKRMWT9yLGMrWNG9ahvSBwXa_PSXGfni_0ezFRM/s1600-h/plane.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 385px; height: 185px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjcOk4rDQ0coMeOkQlW7TRq33NYqpR5Iwc07btCoAG04AVj6QjsFk13UX3sstasChDhBET_wcCJj_r_xZOtztKRy4PlxiNbLBg_J5qrKRMWT9yLGMrWNG9ahvSBwXa_PSXGfni_0ezFRM/s400/plane.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281022814286052018" /></a><br />Hey!<div><br /></div><div>So, did I tell you that way back in September I won a competition and the prize was a $1000 Flight Centre voucher? No? Well, I did.</div><div><br /></div><div>So now it's come time to use it! My dad, my beloved Charlie and I are going to Melbourne on Sunday for 9 days. Woot! My bro lives there so we are going to spend Christmas with him. All my favourite guys in one place!! And we found cheap as accommodation in the city.</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm pretty excited about it, especially as I made some spending money at Craftwerk.</div><div><br /></div><div>And I am really really over work and making stuff right now so just doing what I want is going to be sweet.</div><div><br /></div><div>So that's probably me for 2008. Then I start to think about my bike - a charming old Raleigh 20. It's purple and once had two white tyres (but now has one white, one black). I really love it but it's always breaking down. At the moment the seat is doing something weird and I need to get a spanner to it and the pedals slip when you are trying to ride uphill (kinda scary and dangerous).<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>So... I started investigating buying a new bike with the classic old fashioned look that I love. I found a lot on overseas websites! These are my favourites. Unfortunately they are all hugely expensive and possibly not able to be shipped to NZ. Anyway... makes for good drooling:</div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.fietsfabriek.nl/pages_eng/retro.htm">Fietsfabriek</a> "Retro" </div><div><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 203px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirv_PSH7dlFAitnDQYscmJQ4mzRA3Y5HiIpPq21S8qgo-ZaGiIZCEe_0Hdpgnl-6VSbD2_eaTaJ2iAAgYj-8bfJHb50JkCeK-N1rxKiy42mxAqHqf_PXHre9QH0FIp-3fonBCQuuBhtOk/s320/fietsabriek+retro.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273090853564881282" /><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Gucci release this little red beauty as a special item during the Beijing Olympics for a cool US$3,420!<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 195px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDb2692jO2pNFMJhx3WozXWtO2Uj82fsIuGQmjbWplrFsiXQ8Lw26JJsELhO0O2XcIOPNGe6eqOdQO514kDfNULIv_5d_moY9B0-KqNtMKbMiPTFKu5HhT9Pm7TfaK8ajw89bx_r0nA4U/s320/gucci-bicycle-beijing-2008.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273090862016469874" /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.jorgandolif.com/limited.html">Jorg & Olif</a> have this cutey "Oma" at a fairly reasonable price ... for those in the States only!</div><div><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 238px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHOL1ravpns9yjBW6qP_fDu_8hgIIShLKNHTS1-PvHh7_rFxjt79cKbTBPtVYaCGix4H7I7kglw1-cGozpkTeF2gzoXp4y58GIhHeqsoo8NNn5iz9aEuS0D9QIRX_o0WOle5fQKhj406w/s320/Jorg&Olif+oma_black.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273090864350480642" /><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>These two are from the British <a href="http://www.pashley.co.uk/">Pashley Cycles</a> "Sonnet Bliss" and "Princess Classic"</div><div><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 276px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaIUV2L7zk9T9nSIqSxnIrDTFIGktyXndN9Lgz-CXoBIouR_yWhyQV0k_uWXdbhqNQ8_otT0AN0QVNRra2_ClnUduBdFDDVmSsObpZRmGowUcfokK7wrc8gRwixdqjXVKBSe3fDDiD-V4/s320/pashley+sonnet+bliss.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273090874111379746" /><img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 306px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzY78hk458N-nk-Ye9DmfmVQ6mKQ15VNYmIF4FVh9Fc7isuDLC_Nv2qVjukjL_BTF6c0IGLHzu6Y6Fcqz-QAhYBjAQGPm3Czu9BDEYLDx9kDoWr3BvAo7ntYPlRFzm5PVytIb15NbWf24/s320/pashley_princessclassic_black.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273090872731625138" /><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.kronan.com/">Kronan</a>! I have been so busy lately, not getting enough sleep and unfortunately not having much (well, any) time for crafty-<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">ness</span>. Uni is a relentless task master! Just finishing my last few assignments, then it's exam time. Fun.<br /><br />Tomorrow I am going on a road trip with my dear papa to Palmerston North. He won a regional architecture award so we are going down to the awards functions (He won it for some apartments in New Plymouth he designed). It's going to be a seven and a half hour journey apparently. I do quite like road trips though (It's easy when you don't drive!). Dad's promised we can stop at op shops and antique stores on the way back. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Yuuusss</span>.<br /><br />In all my madness of busy-<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">ness</span> I have managed to do some extra hours at work AND...<br /><br />Auditioned for Wheel of Fortune. Yay for crafty awesomeness. We had some new bones earrings (cast from some bone lollies I bought at the dairy down the road). I also ate waaaay too much cake despite Charles trying hard to be my healthy conscience. I didn't manage to get back to City's stall to get one of her delicious cupcakes though, but there's always next time! <div><br /></div><div>I am now excited about doing some baking soon myself. It's Charles' birthday soon and I'm soooooo excited. I love his birthdays because it gives me a chance to spoil him rotten and buy him presents and make things for him. Most of the year I resist this, although he does get the occasional present from places like the $3 Japan store when I can't help myself. So last year I surprised him by baking a super awesome carrot cake (his fav flavour). I'm not sure I'd ever baked for him before. It was such an awesome recipe that I decided to make it again this year, AND make carrot cupcakes with the same mixture because the recipe makes a really big mix.</div><div><br /></div><div>It's a Jamie Oliver recipe and I HIGHLY recommend it. You can find it <a href="http://www.tefal.co.uk/tefal/magazine/jamie_oliver/recipe_jamie.asp?recipe_id=249">here</a> you want to try it.</div><div>I recommend being very careful with how much juice you put in the icing because I put too much in then had to add heaps more cream cheese and icing sugar which meant I had enough icing for 3 cakes. I thought this week was going to be a bit more relaxed after my crazy being-sick-2-assignments-due-and-a-test week. Turns out I have another assignment to do this week, another test and Kraftbomb to think about! </p><p>I am a bit sad because I broke my popsicle mold by putting polyester resin in it (thought I'd try it out because I usually use epoxy). Baaa! Who knew that it would ruin it? I might try to make a new mold tonight and then hopefully can whip a couple out before the weekend. Also my hearts mold is ruined because I put too much hardener in the resin and it ripped some of the silicone away with it. After 2 years of playing with resin you'd think it'd get easier but I still make costly (and time wasting) mistakes. </p><p>I made a new mold! But... I actually need some beading lessons before I can make it work because I'd basically be making resin beads but I don't know how to make the clasps on a necklaces once the beads are strung up on a wire. Yeek. I wish I could make that before Kraftbomb! </p><p>Maybe next time. This is what I keep telling myself. Maybe someday in that magical life I will be leading where I have plenty of time for everything (including the gym) and I have a balanced lifestyle in all ways and everything gets done and my bedroom is not just a place to keep piles (literally piles) of junk that I should throw out or donate to the salvation army.</p><p>I think I should stop this rant now. Yes. Goodbye.<br /></p>Alidahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16607764228128441016noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4478041853173940051.post-22038133960806103492008-09-09T19:08:00.001+12:002008-09-09T19:10:05.645+12:00StressedI have a crazy amount of orders to fill, 2 assignments to do this week... and I think I'm getting sick.<div><br /></div><div>AND...
